What is Reiki?

A Brief History of Reiki
Reiki was developed in the early 20th century by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan. Usui was a Japanese Buddhist who searched for a method that could heal the body and mind, and through extensive study and meditation, he rediscovered Reiki. This practice has been passed down through generations and has evolved to suit the needs of modern practitioners.
How Virtual Reiki Works
During a virtual session, the practitioner will guide the client to find a comfortable spot to sit or lie down, close their eyes, and focus on their breathing. Using the Reiki symbols, the practitioner directs their intention to activate these frequencies and send healing energy to the client. The client may feel warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of relaxation. The effects can be just as powerful as those experienced in an in-person session.
Key Reiki Symbols Used in Virtual Sessions
Cho Ku Rei (The Power Symbol)
This symbol protects and activates the flow of the high-frequency energy. In virtual sessions, it ensures the healing energy remains strong and effective.
Sei He Ki (The Mental/ Emotional Symbol)
This symbol helps balance emotions and clear mental blocks, which is particularly useful in virtual Reiki for addressing stress and anxiety during the session.
Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (The Distance Symbol)
This symbol is essential for virtual Reiki, as it bridges the distance between the practitioner and the client, allowing the healing energy to be activated regardless of distance.
There are various Reiki symbols for different energetic frequencies, such as love, peace, releasing karma, better communication flow, and many more.
